Say goodbye to physical SIM cards. Connect your IoT devices easily and securely with software-based SIM technology.
Traditional IoT devices rely on a plastic SIM card or an eSIM chip soldered onto the circuit board for cellular connectivity. Soft SIM removes that hardware entirely: the authentication a SIM card normally performs is handled by software running on the device's own processor.
Connectivity profiles are delivered to the device remotely and managed from the cloud. That eliminates SIM card procurement, in-field card swaps and hardware requirements such as a SIM slot, making your devices more compact, more cost-effective and easier to manage.
Connect your devices to cellular networks with software-based SIM technology, no physical SIM card required.
Manage all your SIM profiles centrally in the cloud. Activate, deactivate and update profiles remotely.
Protect your data with end-to-end encryption and secure profile downloads. Fully compliant with GSMA standards.
Integrate easily with your existing systems through a RESTful API. Compatible with IoT platforms and device management systems.
Easily manage anywhere from 10 to 10 million devices. Supports auto-scaling and load balancing.
Low latency and high connection quality. Seamless connectivity everywhere with global operator support.
| Feature | Physical SIM | eSIM (eUICC) | Soft SIM |
|---|---|---|---|
| SIM hardware | Removable plastic card | Chip soldered onto the circuit board | No separate SIM hardware |
| Changing profile / operator | Card must be physically replaced | Remote profile download | Remotely, via software |
| Card procurement & logistics | Required | Not required | Not required |
| Space inside the device | Requires a SIM slot | A small chip | No extra space needed |
| Additional hardware cost | Card + slot | eUICC chip | None |
The ideal solution for industrial IoT sensors, smart meters and monitoring devices.
Reliable, flexible connectivity for fleet management and vehicle monitoring systems.
A scalable solution for smart lighting, traffic management and environmental sensors.
Secure connectivity for wearable devices and remote health monitoring systems.
A Soft SIM (SoftSIM) delivers SIM functionality through the device's own software instead of separate SIM hardware. The subscriber credentials needed to connect to a cellular network are stored in the device's protected memory, so no plastic SIM card or eSIM chip is required.
An eSIM is a physical chip (eUICC) soldered onto the device's circuit board, with operator profiles downloaded remotely. A Soft SIM has no separate SIM chip at all; SIM functionality is provided entirely in software, which reduces hardware cost and saves space inside the device.
Soft SIM can be used in IoT devices with a cellular modem that supports it, such as vehicle trackers, industrial sensors, smart meters and wearables. Our team can help you assess whether your device is compatible.
With Soft SIM, credentials are stored encrypted in the device's protected memory and profiles are delivered over encrypted connections. The overall security level also depends on the device's hardware security features and software architecture, which is why we plan the right security design for your project together with you.
All SIM profiles are managed centrally through a cloud-based management platform. Activation, deactivation and profile updates can be done remotely, and a RESTful API and webhooks let you integrate with your existing systems.
